Why cracked.guide exists

Hi, I'm Dane Dolph. I built cracked.guide.

Every programmer has the same two books on their "someday" list: Crafting Interpreters and The Art of Computer Programming. Someday never comes, because a book that big has no Monday. Nothing tells you what to read this week, nobody notices when you skip one, and checking a box that says "read 2.3.1" proves nothing.

So I wrote the plan down: 125 weeks with a date on each one, two interpreters, then all of Knuth, with NeetCode and a few Zachtronics games to keep things fun. Then I made the site check the work instead of trusting the checkbox, because that is the only kind of progress that means anything.

It is free, and it stays free. No paywall, no upsell, no ads. If it helps you and you want to give something back, you can buy me a book. Knuth would approve.

It is hard on purpose and most people won't finish. If you get to week 16 with two working interpreters, you are already further than most. If you get to week 125, write to me at hello@cracked.guide. I want to hear about it.
